Everything you need to know
Frequently asked
- Where is it?
- Liberty, New York — in the Catskills. A private property with open fields, woods, and a pond. The full address and directions are sent directly to you once your spot is confirmed.
- When should I arrive, and when does it end?
- Check-in opens at 1pm on Friday the 11th. Come earlier rather than later — there's live music, the grounds to walk, and time to settle in. The gates close at sundown, around 8pm, and we can't check anyone in after that. It runs through to Monday the 14th, with checkout at 11am. Plenty of people head home on Sunday evening once the day is out, and plenty stay through to Monday morning — either is fine, so book your journey home for whichever suits you.
- Who comes to this?
- Young Jewish adults — men and women — looking for a meaningful, elevated Rosh Hashanah. Whether deeply observant, exploring, or anywhere in between, you will find your place here. It's a 21+ event — the average age is around 30, with plenty of people either side of that.
- Can I bring my children?
- No — this is a 21+ event and we don't have minors attending.
- Is everything on the property?
- Yes. There's a pond, open fields and woods, and everything over the three days happens within walking distance. Once you arrive, you're settled — nothing asks you to leave and come back.
- Is it fully Shabbos- and Yom Tov-observant?
- Yes. Rosh Hashanah is held in its complete kedushah. No live music on Yom Tov — music takes place only before and after. All food is fully kosher under reliable hashgacha. Bring your own machzor; classes are in English.
- What's included in the price?
- Your accommodation, all meals and drinks, and the whole programme. Three meals a day, a tea room with snacks, and coffee in the mornings. If there's a particular bottle of wine you like, bring it.
- What are the accommodation options?
- Private rooms, shared rooms, bring-your-own-RV spots, and camping. Private rooms sleep one or two, with a bed, linen, heating and air conditioning; shared rooms hold roughly five to ten. Bedding is provided indoors — campers, RV guests and anyone bringing a mattress bring their own linens.
- What should I bring?
- Campers bring everything: tent, mattress, linens, pillows. RV guests bring linens, a hose, and their own power — we can't promise a hookup, and there are no 30-amp lines. Everyone should bring a machzor. A fuller packing list goes out with your confirmation.
- Is there wifi?
- No. There's power in the houses and the barn to charge your phone, and some cell service, but we don't offer wifi and can't promise it. If you need to be online, plan around that or bring your own connection.
- What's the refund policy?
- There are no refunds, for any reason. Space is limited and every place is held for you once you book, so please be sure you can come before you do. Tickets can't be transferred or resold either.
- How do I pay, and when?
- Payment is in full at booking — that's what reserves your place, and there's no deposit. We run this at cost, so there aren't discounts. It does fill up, so booking early is the real advice.
- Can you cater for allergies or a specific diet?
- We can't promise it. The food is fully kosher, but that says nothing about gluten, nuts or cross-contamination, and we don't cater to individual diets. There are often options that work, and the kitchen will talk you through what's available when you arrive — but if you have a serious allergy, please speak to us before you book rather than after.
- What are the house rules?
- No smoking anywhere on the property, and never indoors — there's a $1,000 fine for smoking inside. Step off the property if you need to. Alcohol is fine in moderation. Drugs are zero tolerance.
- What if there's a medical problem?
- There's no doctor on site, but we have trained medical technicians and a plan for emergencies. If you have a pre-existing condition, tell us beforehand so we can make arrangements with you.
- Is there a waiver?
- Yes — every adult guest signs their own waiver and provides a photo ID. You'll get a personal link after booking; nobody can sign on your behalf.
